How people who work in data see each other
Revisiting an old meme I saw a long time ago on Reddit, I thought I'd make a similar one for data work.
This serves mainly as an addition to an excellent article I read this week about data engineering, which you can find here. The article expands on how there is no data engineering roadmap, highly recommended read.
For projects involving working with data, the demarcation of "who does what" is usually tricky to establish. As opposed to software projects, data projects cover a lot of operations, engineering, front-end facing dashboards, testing and more.
The interesting tidbit I can share, is that usually these roles are played by 1 person. In other terms, a data engineer can sometimes do some analytics, QA and light sysadmin work.
The following is meant to be a light-hearted meme that gets the discussion going...
I hope this helps understand some of the dynamics in a "data" project.
